Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Content & Operations Assistant to support our editorial production, communications, and digital operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creative tasks and behind-the-scenes coordination, from managing content calendars to drafting newsletters and tracking data.

This is a one-year, contract-based position with performance reviews conducted every three months. Renewal of the contract will be based on performance and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities
Editorial & Calendar Management:

  • Maintain and update the annual editorial/issue calendar
  • Manage the submission process and platforms for each issue
  • Send timely reminders to editors and contributors about content selection, review timelines, and deadlines
  • Compile and share issue-specific reports

Communications & Outreach:

  • Draft and format newsletter content for each issue and campaign
  • Coordinate email communications with selected writers and contributors
  • Manage MailerLite for email campaigns and mailing lists
  • Research and engage with other literary organizations for collaborative opportunities

Content Creation & Social Media:

  • Plan, create, and schedule social media posts in line with brand tone and visuals
  • Use tools like MidJourney to generate engaging images and visual content
  • Manage the organization’s website content on WordPress
  • Create organizational documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Forms, Data & Expense Tracking:

  • Build and edit forms using Google Forms for submissions, feedback, and internal use
  • Keep internal records organized using Google Sheets and Google Docs
  • Track organizational expenses related to editorial and content activities
  • Maintain and organize social and engagement data for reporting

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Experience with email platforms such as MailerLite or similar
  • Experience with content design platforms such as Canva or similar
  • Experience with website management using WordPress
  • Experience using meeting scheduling platforms (like Zoom or Google Meets)
  • Familiarity with social media content creation and scheduling
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Clear and professional written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Basic reporting or analytics experience
  • Background in editorial, communications, or digital publishing
  • Access to a Laptop or computer is required
